DWI, DUI, DWAI & BWI

Suffolk – NassauThe Hamptons – North Fork

Jeremy Williams provides experienced defense against all forms of DWI charges. As a prosecutor, Jeremy handled hundreds of cases involving Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Impaired by Drugs from arraignment to disposition, bringing dozens of cases to hearings and trial. A conviction for a DWI, DUI, DWAI or BWI offense can carry severe civil penalties and revocations on your license, and can result in criminal sentences of probation or jail.

Jeremy tried DWI cases in both Suffolk First District Court and the outlying Justice Courts of the East End. He also has experience in Boating While Intoxicated matters. With the government, Jeremy worked closely with police who specialize in DWI enforcement, presenting cases to the Grand Jury and trying cases before judges and juries. Jeremy has also participated in standardized sobriety test training with police academy recruits. Jeremy has lectured to the Suffolk County Police Academy and East End Marine Law Enforcement Task Force on Boating While Intoxicated Offenses. These experiences have given Jeremy an extensive knowledge of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law; the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) standards for the administration of standardized field sobriety tests; the NASBLA (National Association of State Boating Law Administrators) standards for the administration of seated field sobriety tests; the admissibility of intoxilizer and blood toxicology results; and the contemporary caselaw on discovery and probable cause. Jeremy uses this experience to defend your rights when accused of DWI, DWAI, or BWI.

Jeremy understands that a successful DWI defense is a holistic approach that incorporates an aggressive preservation of your rights, a surgical and scathing review of the government’s case, and when appropriate forming a proactive plan for engaging in treatment.
