Environmental, Hunting & Fishing Offenses
Suffolk – Nassau – The Hamptons – North Fork
If you have received a citation or been subject to an arrest by the Department of Environmental Conservation Police (DEC), choose an attorney who knows the inside game. As a prosecutor, Jeremy handled thousands of recreational fishing and hunting violations from inception through disposition, working closely with the DEC and local law enforcement agencies. Jeremy served as a member of the B.E.A.S.T. Unit (Biological, Environmental, Animal Safety Team) of the Suffolk County DA’s Office, where he lead the EverBlue Initiative, a multi-agency enforcement effort which sharply increased commercial fishing violation enforcement. In 2024, Jeremy was honored with the Environmental Enforcement Officer of the Year Award by the Long Island Central Pine Barrens Commission for his efforts prosecuting environmental offenses at the violation, misdemeanor and felony levels.
As an avid fisherman and former ECL prosecutor, Jeremy uses his extensive knowledge of this niche area of criminal law to defend the rights of recreational sportsmen, commercial fishermen and those accused of environmental offenses.
Environmental convictions can jeopardize licenses to fish or hunt and can carry serious penalties including fines, probation and jail time. Convictions against commercial licenses can ruin livelihoods. If you have received a ticket for a hunting, fishing or environmental offense, call Jeremy today for a free consultation.
